VINTAGE 2011 :
The 2011 vintage was extremely advanced, marked by a very dry and hot summer that rushed the full ripening of the grapes. In the case of the high vineyards used for the elaboration of this Rosé, this has undoubtedly contributed to the aromatic richness of the wine.
VARIETIES :
50% Garnacha from our “Los Almendros” state in Ausejo (Rioja Baja) and 50% Tempranillo from Rioja Alavesa.
AVERAGE YIELD :
40-45 Hl./Ha.
VINIFICATION :
A veil of carbonic snow protects the grapes at the receiver while it also takes their temperature down. The Rosé has been elaborated combining the bleeding of the flower must of the Tempranillo with the skin maceration and posterior pressing of the Garnacha. In both cases the wine is clarified prior to fermentation. The wine is then fermented with selected yeasts at a low temperature (14-15ºC) in order to keep the primary aromas.
TASTING NOTES :
The colour is a lively pale pink and the nose a display of strawberries, raspberries and childhood candy. Dry and easy drinking it displays a wide range of red and dark fruits, strawberries, and cherries, sharp and crispy.
TASTING SUGGESTIONS :
Pouring temperature: 7-8ºC (45-47ºF). Versatile, ideal as an aperitif, great with salads, Mediterranean food in general and Oriental cuisine.
